Experience History with the Family
Take your family back in time and explore some of Redding’s historic treasures! Learn about the gold rush at Shasta State Historic Park, where you can explore the ruins of an old mining settlement, alongside the fully restored courthouse. (You might even see a ghost!) Down the road, your family can experience gold panning for yourselves at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Finally, head to Lake Shasta Caverns National Natural Landmark to take a guided tour of limestone caves that have been over a million years in the making.
