In Downtown Redding, you can walk or take our DASH shuttle, but to reach the adventure destinations in the region, having or renting a car will certainly be wise.

With our location in Northern California and the amount of wilderness we have, wildfires come with the seasonal weather, but a few precautions found on our Safety page will keep you away from any hazards.
Redding is the second sunniest city in the United States! We have 300+ sunny days a year, so you can have fun year-round. But, sunny doesn’t mean it’s always hot. We do have hot, dry summers when you can swim, but also mild winters with snowfall for skiing and other winter sports in the mountains.

Road trip! Interstate 5 and several other highways pass through or very near Redding. Fly into the RDD (Redding Municipal Airport) through San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas or Los Angeles. Redding is a 3-hour drive northeast of San Francisco, located in the heart of Northern California. It’s a midpoint from the two-hour drive north of Sacramento and south of Medford, Oregon. Interstate 5 runs right through the middle of the city, making it an easy addition to any West Coast itinerary.
