A Weekend of Iron-Fun!
Redding is rolling out the red carpet for IRONMAN, and there are events all weekend to celebrate! Kick things off with the Start Line Social on Friday, August 14th – this downtown block party acts as the official start for IRONMAN weekend as the community comes together to welcome the race. Saturday morning starts off with Yoga on the Sundial Bridge – the perfect way to greet the day and get invigorated for the race to come. After yoga, head over to watch the IRONKIDS Fun Run, or bring your own Ironkid to join in the excitement. And of course, the IRONMAN Village will be open all weekend at the Redding Civic Auditorium – stop by there to pick up some IRONMAN swag, and maybe meet and mingle with the athletes while you’re at it!

Need some last-minute gear to get race-ready? Redding has you covered! Fleet Feet is your one-stop shop for all your running needs, while local bike shops like Chain Gang, The Bike Shop, and Redding Sports LTD can help make sure your bike is in tip-top shape. IRONMAN 70.3 Northern California is the challenge of a lifetime, so you’ll need to make sure you’re fueled up and ready to go. Fortunately, Redding’s restaurants are more then up for the task! Downtown options like the Redding Public Market and The Park Food Truck Hub offer a wide variety of vendors with options for every palate. Local favorites like Mosaic and Branch House Riverfront Bistro offer great eats and are only steps away from IRONMAN Village. And there’s always the crowd-pleasing C.R. Gibbs American Grille, a favorite local gathering spot who’s great eats always keep people coming back for more.

Things to Do
Wondering what to do when you’re not at the race? Fortunately, IRONMAN Village is right next to a trio of Redding’s top attractions – the Sundial Bridge, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, and the Sacramento River National Recreation Trail. Here you’ll find Redding’s central icon, a sprawling museum complex, and the crown jewel of Redding’s extensive trail system all waiting to be explored. Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is also worth stopping by for more then the IRONMAN swim – the park is home to beaches, waterfalls, and a wide variety of trails, making it a favorite with locals and visitors alike.
