The Halloween season is upon us, and Redding has lots of thrilling activities in store for families this October! From picking pumpkins to visiting haunted houses, there are many ways to celebrate Halloween in Redding.

Pick the Perfect Pumpkin

1. Head to Nash Ranch Pumpkin Patch to pick the perfect pumpkin! Ride ponies, explore bounce houses, and hop on the train for family-friendly fun. Open daily through October 31st from 11 am – 6 pm on weekdays and 10 AM – 6 PM on weekends.

2. For pumpkins galore, visit Hawes Historic Farms Fall Festival through October 27th. On weekdays from 12-5 PM, you can pick pumpkins for just $.59/lb. and enjoy gourds and squash too. Kids under 3 are free!

Get Creative – Make an Ornament

3. Celebrate cultural traditions at a Day of the Dead Ornament Class on October 26th at 3 PM at Gather Downtown. Join artist Leaf Argotti for a special afternoon spent creating three colorful ornaments. This class welcomes all skill levels, perfect for decorating your home or giving as unique gifts. Bring a friend or family member (ages 12+) for a fun creative experience. Gather Downtown provides all supplies – just bring your creativity!

Trick or Treat Events

4. Join Dill’s Deli & 32 Below Ice Cream for a community Trunk or Treat event on October 31st from 4-8 PM, where families can enjoy safe trick-or-treating and community members can participate by bringing vehicles and candy (advance registration required for candy distributors).

5. Or stop by Sweetspot’s Halloween Block Party on October 26th from 3-7 PM for a fun celebration featuring free cookies for costumed guests, trick-or-treating with local vendors at The Nook, cupcake decorating, and a special appearance by Bruno the pig.

6. You can find more trick-or-treating fun at the Redding Farmer’s Market on October 26th from 7:30 AM – 12 PM. Enjoy pumpkin painting, live music, candy, and more.

Thrilling Haunted Houses in Redding

7. For the ultimate Halloween thrill, visit the Redding Haunted House at the Monolith through October 30th. This terrifying haunted attraction located near the Sheraton Hotel is one of the longest-running and scariest haunted houses in Redding. Tickets start at $15 online.

8. Or get your scare on at Hawes Haunts every Friday and Saturday evening in October. Experience the Field of Terror, The Unknown, Sinister Workshop, and try your hand at  Zombie Slayer paintball if you dare!

Spooky Shows & Halloween Parties

9. Check out the The Art Hunger’s Halloween Pop-Up Art Show & Movie Night at Riverfront Playhouse on October 31st from 5-9 PM. Enjoy local art, signature drinks and treats, and a screening of “TRICK ‘R TREAT” (Rated R) starting at 7 PM. The cost is $10 per person.

10. If you have a child with special needs in your life, treat them to the Shasta County SELPA Special Needs Halloween Spooktacular. This inclusive celebration offers a sensory-friendly environment where kids can enjoy the magic of Halloween through trick-or-treating, Lego activities, prizes, and more.

11. The Redding Library is hosting a children’s Spooky Night at the Library on October 25th from 7-8:30 PM. This event is specifically for children aged 5-12. They can enjoy spooky stories, games, and more!

More Halloween Fun

12. Don’t miss Mt. Shasta Mall’s Trunk or Treat event on October 30th from 4-7 PM with candy at participating stores, geared for ages 12 & under.

13. Save the date for Shasta Halloween’s 2024 Boo Cruise on October 19th and 26th. Explore decorated homes and haunts with a live interactive map.
