Explore Redding Mountain Biking & Learn How to Ride Better All in One Trip

biking in redding

There’s something to be said about seeking the road less traveled… or rather singletrack less ridden. While the larger biking meccas should be on your bucket list, there’s something to be said about visiting the up-and-coming mountain biking hotspots before they become famous. One of these rising stars in the hidden gem category is the Redding Mountain Biking Trail Network.

This is your chance to learn something new through April 10th & 11th AND the opportunity to one day proudly say “I rode the Redding Mountain Biking Trail Network before…”

Redding’s Off Road Cycling History is DEEP

Even though Redding’s mountain biking is starting to move into cycling’s forefront, its history in off-roading fun is long. In fact, it dates back to 1981. Marin County may have been the spark but Redding’s Whiskeytown Downhill was the fuel to the flame. It was one of the 1st mountain bike races in the country.

The Re-Birth of the Redding Bike Scene

Although the Whiskeytown Downhill race no longer exists, its spirit and energy was recaptured in the last few decades with building, repairing, and expanding the Redding singletrack to encompass hundreds of miles of trails. This was done with the help from several organizations such as the Redding Trail Alliance, McConnell Foundation (Brian Sindt), BLM, and the Redding Mountain Bike Club just to name a few.

Redding – The Perfect Place for a Mountain Biking Clinic

Compared to other mountain biking destinations which focus on intermediate and expert routes, Redding is home to a wide variety of segments that ANY skill level can enjoy. As such, the Redding Mountain Biking Trail Network is the perfect place to host our 2-day core fundamental skills clinic Nov 7-8th.

Mountain Biking Clinic For Everyone

Compared to our lift access gravity Mt. Shasta event, our Redding event is geared to everyone who wants to ride better and improve their core fundamental skills for all terrain. And once you’re finished getting to know your bike better, think about sticking around a little longer. Consider spending another day or two exploring this amazing network of flow and sweet singletrack trails. TIP: You can never fully predict Mother Nature, but weather permitting, April can be an optimal time for the area. The great spring riding weather combined with the greenery filled landscape makes for the perfect combo of technical trails to ride and beautiful scenery to look at.
