Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance is back by popular demand after Redding audiences fell hard for it last summer. It’s a fast-moving comedy about a bumbling band of pirates, a gaggle of proper young ladies, and one very confused young man caught between love and duty; plus, it’s performed in full costume with a live orchestra. It moves, it makes you laugh, and it does not take itself seriously for a single moment.
