Buckin' by the River: The 79th Redding Rodeo

Get ready for wild rides, family fun, and true Western excitement at the annual Redding Rodeo happening May 12-15, 2027 at the Redding Rodeo Grounds. Since 1948, this beloved Northern California tradition has delivered three days of thrilling professional rodeo action.     

Top cowboys and cowgirls from across the country will compete across traditional rodeo events like bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and women's barrel racing. Feel the adrenaline as daring riders try to stay on a bucking bronco for a qualified eight-second ride, or brave bull riders get flung around by an enormous bull. Marvel at the skill of rodeo athletes, including world champions, as they wrestle steers to the ground or expertly rope calves against the clock.     

Between events, delight in specialty acts like rodeo clowns, trick riders performing daring stunts, the patriotic presentation of colors, and crowd-pleasing mutton bustin' where kids try their hand at sheep riding. Enjoy fair food, visit sponsor booths, let kids enjoy the kids’ corral play area, and don't miss the Saturday night fireworks extravaganza.
