North State Chronicles

Have you ever lived through something that made you think, “This could be a story worth telling?” Or do you simply enjoy hearing the incredible true stories of others?

Everyone has a story. Everyone has a full life. North State Chronicles gives you the chance to share a real story from your own experience — whether it’s amusing, heartfelt, baffling, funny, or even a little agitating. Just make sure it’s true, remember it well enough to enjoy telling it, and come ready to have fun.

Each month we'll feature a themed storytelling topic to spark memories. Names are drawn from a hat, and when it’s your turn, you’ll have 5 minutes on stage (you’ll get a 4-minute warning). Your story doesn’t have to be memorized — just spoken from the heart.

At the end of the evening, audience members will vote by text for their favorite storyteller of the night.

A prize will be awarded to the person with the most votes.

A few friendly guidelines:

• These are not rants.
• No fake accents, and please skip reading from notes if you can.
• Tell your story — not someone else’s, unless it is truly yours to tell.
• Humor is welcome but not required. You can be emotional — just don’t take it out on the audience.
• This stage is a place for civility and respect. No racism, homophobia, misogyny, or any form of hate speech.

Pay what you can (suggested $5 minimum.)
