A two-day paddle race on the Sacramento River, held at Lake Redding Park. Competitors can race in kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards (SUP), or crew boats.
Race registration is $35. Races are categorized by vessel type—performance or recreation—with distance options of 1, 2, or 4 miles.
Recreation classes include:
Age divisions are 18–49 and 50+. Recreational races are on Sunday only. Performance races are a two-day event. Saturday is to determine rankings. Sunday is for finals. All participants must wear Coast Guard-approved life jackets and attend a mandatory safety briefing.

Dating back to the 1930s Water Carnival, the Lake Redding Regatta is a weekend of paddling, community, and celebration. This revived tradition invites kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) to race through the heart of Redding’s riverfront, welcoming all skill levels for fun, friendly competition.
Whether you’re racing for speed or cheering from the shoreline, the Regatta brings something for everyone. Expect live music, local vendors, wellness activities, demos, and a classic car show lining the banks.
