The 2024 Community Creek Cleanup will focus on 3 sections of Calaboose Creek in Downtown Redding.

Volunteers will meet at Plantable Nursery & Cafe at 2024 California Street, Redding, and start the morning off with a sweet treat and some caffeine before heading to one of 3 locations for a day of trash pickup and light vegetation removal.

During these four short hours, join your fellow community members to help clear the trash and debris that finds its way into Calaboose Creek. Along with trash removal, be prepared to clear light vegetation and be sure to wear shoes that you don’t mind getting wet as you work.

Bring your water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, sunscreen, and come out and help restore this important urban waterway. You can make a substantial contribution to the beauty of our city during a single morning of labor.

Gloves, safety goggles, buckets, and garden tools will be made available for use. Please bring your own loppers, garbage pickers, or safety equipment if you have it.

Kids must be 10 years of age or older to participate. No exceptions. Volunteers between the ages of 10 and 18 are allowed to bring a waiver (available on the City of Redding Creek Clean-Up webpage—link below) to check-in signed by a parent or guardian prior to event day.

Participants 10 to 17 years old are REQUIRED to have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian!
